The genesis of this chabura traces back to the Mishna Yomi siyum celebrated at Anshe Chesed in late July. After the siyum ended, members stayed for hours, singing and talking. When it was finally over, Steve Geltzer, one of the mesaymim, turned to Rabbi Yosef Katz and said, “Let’s do this regularly.” From that moment, the idea for the chabura was born.
This was no ordinary social event. So what was it that drew these men out on a busy weeknight? It was the desire to grow in their avodat Hashem. The camaraderie was warm and the food was delicious, but the real attraction was the shared commitment to deepen their connection to Hashem and inspire one another through conversation and music.
